Winter Newsletter
July 2013
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the Winter School Holidays edition of Crystal Street Family Chiropractic's monthly email.
Having just returned from my European adventure and enjoyed summer sun, good food and some relaxation, here is some information on ways to keep the body happy during travel and a recipe of an amazing drink I just fell in love with.
Travel Tips
While travelling for a prolonged time in the car or on a plane it is important to keep yourself moving, hydrated and in the best posture possible. Here are a few of Crystal Street Family Chiropractic's Travel Tips.
Baby Carriers
I am asked regularly about which type of baby carrier is best, and this becomes important while travelling. Here are a few ideas on how to best carry your bub depending on their age and your preference.
Research
Here is another interesting read on the use of probiotics in premature babies. Again, it shows the powerful link between gut health and general wellbeing. Additionally, the relationship between improved immune and brain functioning and probiotics is being explored worldwide in adults, with positive results so far. This article highlights some of the findings.
Recipe
Horchata de Chufa is a delicious refreshing drink I discovered in Valencia where they soak Tiger Nuts in water and create a drink using the milk (similar to almond milk). In Australia, it is extremely hard to get these nuts, so you can do the same thing using rice - Mexican Horchata.
In and Around Petersham
There are heaps of new places popping up!
I tried West Juliett on Llewellyn St in Marrickville. The salads were great and other people around us were having breakfast and that looked delicious too!
I have to admit that I haven't tried Little Mule Cafe in Stanmore but the reviews from friends and in the paper have been great. Try it out and let me know!
Facebook
Please "like" the Crystal Street Family Chiropractic facebook page which has research, new articles, a little health inspiration and links to other health practitioners in the area.
Dr Graeme Deep Tissue Massager
I have had a few requests to sell Dr Graeme Massagers, like I use at the clinic. I am currently looking into bringing them in. If you are interested in purchasing one, please send me an email or let me know when you are next in.
Wheat Bags
Just a reminder that I am now stocking wheat bags at the clinic as they are often hard to find. They are large rectangular heat packs that are at priced at $30. If you would like one please let me know.
As mentioned in the previous emails, I would love to hear your feedback on what information you would like to know more about or if you have any healthy (or not so healthy) recipes to share.
Lastly, I am always happy to get involved with local community organisations, schools and events. If you have any fundraisers, sporting events or school fetes coming up, feel free to leave some flyers/posters/raffle boxes with me. In addition, I am happy to donate vouchers as prizes to assist local organisations and schools.
Have a great week and remember to stay warm! I look forward to seeing you soon.
Kind Regards,
Amy
